About the Class
In this ensemble voice class perfect for fans of Glee, Pentatonix, and Pitch Perfect, students age 14-18 will sing together in a group and create full harmonies and vocal accompaniments for their favorite songs. KG Voices is great for voice students who want to sing and collaborate with other singers and create unforgettable covers of songs across a wide range of genres, from musical theater to pop, jazz, rock, hip-hop, and more. Students will develop their group vocal technique, with a strong emphasis on ear training, pitch, and blend. Beyond simply learning harmonies, it’s about learning how to listen, lock in, and collaborate.
Because this class is geared towards slightly older students, they will have to opportunity to sing both a cappella (unaccompanied) as well as with instrumental accompaniment. Sheet music and practice tracks will be provided, and students will learn to read and interpret sheet music the way real working singers do. Each semester will culminate in a performance of 4-5 songs.
